UNIQUE PARTNERSHIP ENCOURAGES RENZI SUPPORT FOR "Responsible Energy Development"

Ads set to appear in papers throughout Arizona CD 1

(Tempe, Arizona) Ads are scheduled to appear in papers throughout Arizona's First Congressional District tomorrow featuring Arizona Sportsmen, Conservation and Navajo groups asking Congressman Rick Renzi to support a package of energy reforms scheduled for debate in the U.S. House of Representatives. (Ad attached.)

Legislation was considered by 11 House Committees before evolving into the comprehensive energy package scheduled for House action tomorrow. Included in it are provisions designed to achieve energy independence, lower energy prices and begin to address global warming. The ad's overriding message is that energy reform that encourages responsible production, renewable development and rational conservation is central to America's security and prosperity.

ÒIf energy independence and responsible production can come together in one package, we can come together to support it. We ask Congressman Renzi to join with us in creating a legacy of balanced and responsible energy production for Arizona and America,Ó the ad concludes.

These ads are sponsored by the newly-formed Arizona Conservation Partnership (ACP) founded by conservationists representing a broad spectrum of viewpoints and interests. ACP will continue focusing on issues like the energy reform package in which our national and conservation priorities converge.

Arizona's First Congressional District includes thousands of acres of public and tribal lands impacted by federal energy policy and natural resources legislation. ÒThe goal of ACP is to provide a means for stakeholders in the conservation arena to work together on important federal conservation issues and assist in effectively communicating with elected officials, the media and the public,Ó said project coordinator Sarah Luna.
